CSÍKSZENTIMREAND THE
HENTERS

Csíkszentimre lies in the Alcsík Basin, 11 kilometers from Csíkszereda, on the bank of the river Olt. It got its name from its medieval church consacrated to Saint Imre. It has a population of 2066 according to the 2021 census. Most of the Bath of Csíkszentimre, rich with mineral waters and mofettas is part of its parish.

The area of the parish has been populated for centuries. The oldest archeological artifact found here is an axe from the Neolithic period but several other artifacts from the 4th Century and from the Árpád Age have also been found here in the last few decades.

Its most spectacular and one of its oldest buldings still standing to this day is the manor-house known as the Henter Mansion built in the 18th Century, which probably replaced another earlier building connected to the Hadnagy family.
